4 out of 6 aint bad

Sunday
I did almost feck all today. My groin was in tatters from some of the parkour I did yesterday, I got too carried away with tig on more than one occasion :/
That, along with the overall general achyness, could only mean I took today as a rest day. Everything I tried conditioning wise put too much pressure on my groin apart from handstands. So handstands for a day it was. I practiced holding them for longer and longer periods of time and I got up to around 40-45 seconds before I collapsed with cramp in my forearms :
I also did a lot of elephant raises (raising into a handstand from a planche position) and some negatives which I have been struggling to control for some time now, so it was good to finally get some form of control. I did try a few from a straddle position and a few from seated using my press up bars but my shoulders were far too tired to do them with any control so I called it a day.

Monday
I started today by doing a few hours at college, finishing early at 11 and getting home for not long after. I had a really rough night last night (I normally sleep like a log :s) and I was lacking sleep so I passed out on the sofa for a few hours. I woke up to a call from a lass doing a media course at some uni/college in Leeds that I had previously contacted after receiving an email saying she was wanting to do a project on us. Unfortunately it was too late to do the project but she liked what we do so much that she now wants to do a new project from scratch on us. She had no idea of where to start really so I suggested she could film a video like one of ours or do something with a bit of a twist, like a chase scene, or a game of tag. After a few minutes conversation we half decided to try this as she could help choreograph it and do all sorts of storyboards and things to make it into a full scale project for her course. I am planning on Meeting her ('her' being Emma) on sat the 27th (she is busy on the two Sat's before then). I came off the phone thinking this could be really cool for us as the one thing that we lack in EVERY vid is we never plan a vid and never plan the contents. So one or two week just planning and choreographing should make for an awesome project!

Anyway I finished on the phone and realized I had to meet a mate at the gym in 90 mins, so I quickly got some food etc and went to pump some Iron. I don't know if it was the tiredness or the fact I was bloated with food but I just wasn't feeling it at the gym today and didn't match the weights or reps I can normally manage. However the good news was that a day or two's rest and my groin was 80-90% better!
I got home and did a few more handstands - nothing special but I matched the 40-45 seconds again :)

Tuesday
I had a very similar day today, as in I went to college, went to the gym and did some 'more' handstands - just I went to the gym straight after college today. I'm glad to say I was back to my usual self in there and even pushed a few heavier weights than normal. I also tried bench pressing the barbell just to see what I was capable of and to se if I was getting close to pressing my own weight (as you are not lifting the whole weight on the machines). I pressed it with 40kg on the 15kg bar and could have gone another 5 on that... so at the moment I could lift around 60kg and I weigh 68-70kg... still needs a it of work :P
My mate Pij, that I go to the gym with had been looking up how to get his abs ripped as no amount of reps seemed to cause his any pain. He found out that if you do around 12 sets to failure twice a week it should work. So of course we tried it, and now my abs are getting so big they are starting to make my pecks look small - I can't win!

Today made it 4 out of 6 days in the gym - loving being back there, I would like to make it 5 out of 7 but I have two exams tomorrow and I don't know if i can fit time for the gym around them - I will see :P

I have now put the battery back into my cam corder and after a few glitches it now works with the exception of the head still being dirty. The water caused no electrical damage but left lots of salts behind which, even after using a cleaning tape, seemed to be still affecting the head. It will playback alright but when recording it comes up with quite a few glitches... I will try cleaning it some more but might have to send it off for repair.
Luckily it hasn't damaged too much footage... all the gym footage is still playable (though not on my pc yet *glares at Ed*) and some of the filming from sat works.

I have also contacted Diamonds gym *glares at Ed again* but I am still waiting on a reply - 2 days now.

A few of the underbars I did at the scaffolding before my shoulder nearly popped - they aren't neat but you get the idea...

…And a clip of Liam doing the new arm jump we found on sat:

The last one in the vid wasn't the last one I was planning on doing - I have at least another couple of combinations - one equally as good and the other by far the best I have come up with in my oppinion. I tack of a little wall to grab the bar that sticks out about 4 foot or so in front of the bars I am going trough, and swing through the upper gap without touching the poles. As seen on a couple of the latest videos from Leeds perhaps?

Meh anyway, I love that spot, it 'is' the shizzle! ...And not just the scaffolding, that whole area has some really cool technical bits and a 'perfect' place to drill 6 foot cat pass to precisions - It is immense :P
